FAQs
How often should I wax?
We recommend waxing every 4-6 weeks.
Does waxing at Bare hurt?
Waxing causes slight discomfort at the time of the process, however, the discomfort lessens with subsequent sessions. Any discomfort experienced during the session generally does not linger once the process is complete.
How long does the hair to be waxed need to be?
In general, hair should be the length of a grain of rice, or 1-2 weeks past your last shave.
Can I shave in between waxing visits?
We recommend that you do not shave between visits. Waxing regularly will cause hair to grow back thinner and less prolific over time, however shaving will cause hair to grow back thicker.
How should I prepare for my Bare waxing appointment?
In the days before your Bare waxing appointment, you will need to refrain from shaving to allow your hair to grow out.
When you are inside the 24-hour window of your appointment, you will need to exfoliate the area being waxed. This can be done with body polish or an exfoliating mitt.
If you are concerned about discomfort, you may want to take ibuprofen 45 minutes to 1 hour prior to your appointment.
For your comfort, we recommend you wear cotton, seamless, breathable underwear and loose clothing to your appointment.
Can I wax at Bare during my cycle?
Yes. but for the safety of our staff you must wear a tampon.
Is there a minimum age requirement to wax at Bare?
No. but children under 18 must have parent/guardian consent and parent/guardian must be present at first visit.
Can I wax at Bare if I have hemorrhoids?
Yes. Hemorrhoids are a common occurrence and waxing can be done easily and safely even when they are present.
Can I wax at Bare if I am pregnant?
Yes. however, be aware that pregnancy can cause the skin to be more sensitive during the waxing process.
Are there any special after-care instructions for the waxed areas?
We recommend you wear loose clothing and avoid lace if possible for the first several hours following your appointment. You should keep freshly waxed areas moisturized and clean and you may begin exfoliation 18 hours after the appointment.
We also recommend you avoid excessive sweating, hot showers and intercourse for 48 hours because your pores are open following a waxing procedure.
